An East Galway TD believes scenes of violence in Williamstown over the weekend are not a fair reflection of life in the town.
Deputy Michael Fitzmaurice made the comments following a fracas which broke out at a confirmation at the Parish Church on Saturday.
A video was subsequently circulated online and has been viewed by thousands of people around the world.

Deputy Fitzmaurice says locals are aggrieved by the event and believes it does not represent the positive work that is happening in the area.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan the Roscommon Galway representative hopes there will not be a repeat of this incident.
