The Shannonside region is set to an upturn in weather in the next few days. Counties Longford, Leitrim and Roscommon have each seen torrential rain this week.
This followed an official heatwave last week with temperatures exceeding 25 degrees five days in a row. Meteorologist with Met Éireann, Michelle Dillon says the weather will improve:
