Mullingar native and Bishop elect Paul Connell will be officially installed today as the new Bishop of Ardagh and Clonmacnois.
His appointment was announced in early April this year.
He will replace former Bishop Francis Duffy who served in the role for 8 years before his appointment as Archbishop of Tuam in January of last year.

Today's mass will be presided over by the new Apostolic Nuncio to Ireland and the homily will be preached by Fr Michael McGrath of St Mel's Parish.
