Listeners and fans of Shannonside FM's Facebook page are being warned to be wary of a number of fake pages established in recent days.
A number of people have contacted the station in the last week after they were messaged by the bogus Facebook page, which is an attempted clone of the official Shannonside Facebook page offering them €1,000.
The message usually says that the person is a winner of a cash prize and asks people to register to share their details so they can claim the money.
The pages, which have various different names all along the lines of 'Shannonside', have been reported to Facebook and the station is also warning people to delete any messages it receives from fake pages.
Shannonside FM does not seek any personal details from competition winners through social media and is urging anyone who receives the messages not to engage and delete them.
Facebook has been contacted about the scams and the radio station is awaiting a response.
