People who want to renew their driver's licences will no longer be able to walk in to the local NDLS offices in Roscommon, Longford or Leitrim.
Its been confirmed in the Dail this week that the 'online system only' which was put in place during Covid has now been made permanent.
Junior Transport Minister Hildegarde Naughten has also confirmed that a verified MyGovID account which requires a public services card will be needed to access the online service.

Leitrim resident Margaret Kelly says this latest development will make things even more difficult for older people in particular.
