Veterinary Council of Ireland urges local vets to take part in next election

Any registered vet or veterinary nurse can be nominated by two other registered colleagues.

Vets and veterinary nurses across the Shannonside Northern Sound Region are being urged to consider a position on the Veterinary Council of Ireland.

The Council is an independent body responsible for the regulation of veterinary medicine and veterinary nursing.

Six of its seats are due to be filled in an election in September, with nomination forms to become available from next month.

The roles are open to anyone on the Register of Veterinary Practitioners and on the Register of Veterinary Nurses.

President of the Veterinary Council of Ireland and Roscommon Native, Joe Moffitt says it would be incredibly valuable to add new voices from the region to the council:
