Recent periods of incessant rainfall and the impact of storms have seen water levels in the Cloone River and the nearby Little River rise significantly.

Renewed calls have been made for funding to be allocated for immediate drainage works on two water courses in Co Leitrim.

Recent periods of incessant rainfall and the impact of storms have seen water levels in the Cloone River and the nearby Little River rise significantly.

Local representatives are urging Leitrim County Council to take swift action to prevent damage to homes and farmland along the rivers' course.
