The two teenagers have been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the DPP.

Several people were arrested on Thursday and Friday in connection with a wider garda investigation into global money fraud

Two teenagers have been released from Longford Garda Station in connection with a money laundering investigation.Gardaí attached to the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau conducted a number of additional searches on Friday morning, in Longford as part of Operation Skein.

A man and woman (both aged in their late teens) were arrested and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

There were released without charge and a file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

This brings to 19 the number of persons arrested as part of Operation Skein.

In relation to the five (5) persons arrested as part of Operation Skein and Operation Boxplot on Thursday , 15th April 2021,  all five have been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
