Fr Patrick Lennon will retire as the parish priest in Dromard, in north Longford, after almost six years having been appointed in September 2018.

Two parish priests in Longford and Roscommon are set to retire.

Fr Patrick Lennon will retire as the parish priest in Dromard, in north Longford, after almost six years having been appointed in September 2018.

He will be replaced by Fr PJ Hughes as the parish priest in Dromard.

Meanwhile, Fr Cathal Faughnan is set to retire, having been the parish priest in Kilronan, which covers Keadue, Arigna and Ballyfarnon since 2008.

Fr Tom Cox will take over from Fr Cathal as the parish priest in Kilronan.

Fr Cox says he is looking forward to the challenge.
