A much-awaited decision on the Aldi store planned for Boyle, has been delayed by at least two months.
An Coimisiún Pleanála was due to make a decision on Monday.
The German supermarket chain applied for planning permission to build an Aldi supermarket and refurbish five houses on Patrick Street.
Roscommon County Council granted planning permission, subject to 36 conditions, in January.
But an appeal has been lodged by Brian O'Sullivan, with an address in Kilcormac, Co Offaly.
A decision was due to be made next Monday, June 22nd.
However, An Coimisiún Pleanála wrote to all parties involved yesterday, seeking more information.
The parties have until July 15th to respond.
A revised decision date won't be set until then, but it will be at least August before Aldi finds out if the project can go ahead.
