Two youths have been arrested in the investigation into the alleged serious assault of a teenager in Longford over the weekend.
Gardaí in Longford launched a major investigation after a 17 year old was hospitalised following an incident at Edgeworthstown Train Station on Saturday afternoon. The teen suffered serious head injuries and is currently being treated at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.
Local Gardaí say the youth was attacked by four assailants at the Train Station at 3 o'clock on Saturday. The young man is currently understood to be in a stable condition.

The two were arrested in the process of the Garda investigation yesterday and are currently assisting members with their inquiries.
