The INMO is holding an emergency meeting today to discuss the HSE's response to hospital overcrowding.

The number of patients on trolleys in hospitals across the Shannonside region has dropped by half over the last three days.

Local emergency departments are still reporting to be extremely busy with patients waiting for a hospital bed in all but one local ED.

Sligo University Hospital continues to have some the highest numbers of people waiting on trolleys or on seats for treatment, with 34 at their ED.
