Tributes are being paid to a man who died in a workplace accident in west Roscommon.
Eugene Madden, who was in 70s, passed away after an incident at a business premises in Tibohine just after 10am on Thursday morning.
The Health and Safety Authority has launched an investigation into his death,.
Councillor Liam Callaghan says the entire west Roscommon area is in shock after the accident :
"There is utter shock and sadness when the news broke through that there was a workplace accident in Tibohine and ended up tragically dead.
My deepest sympathy goes out to his family, his workplace colleagues his employees and his neighbours and the wider Frenchpark and Tibohne community
You hear these stories in the media every day but when it comes to your own doorstep, the reality hits home."
