Tributes being paid following passing of well-known local entrepreneur

Tributes are being paid to Roscommon native and wind energy entrepreneur, Eddie O'Connor.
The former CEO of Bord na Móna and well known local businessman has passed away.
He was appointed Chief Executive of Bord na Móna in 1987, while ten years later he became the founder and chief executive of Airtricity.

Mr. O'Connor's involvement in the renewable energy sector made him one of the most prominent figures in the industry, and revolutionised Ireland's method of producing energy.
Eddie O'Connor was diagnosed with an illness last year and is survived by his wife Hildegard, daughter Lesley and son Robert.
