Tesco has confirmed that a number of its staff at a shopping centre in Athlone have tested positive for Covid
A deep clean has taken place at the company's Golden Island store after the positive tests were confirmed this week.
The company says they have followed all appropriate public health advice and are continuing to emphasise that physical distancing, respiratory etiquette and hand hygiene are the most important actions to protect everyone against the spread of COVID-19.

It's understood that testing of close contacts of staff members who have tested positive has also taken place.
The major retailer says the safety of both customers and staff remain their number one priority and have fully engaged with HSE measures and advice on the matter.
