Taoiseach hears of need for new school building on visit to Carrick

Simon Harris made his first visit to the Shannonside region as Taoiseach yesterday.

He went to Carrick-on-Shannon, where he heard of the need for a new school building for Scoil Mhuire national school.

He met the school's new committee, who told him the current facilities are inadequate and there is an overcrowding problem.

Sligo-Leitrim TD Frank Feighan accompanied the Taoiseach on his visit to Carrick.
