There's concern the coming Bank Holiday weekend could see large crowds gathered again if the weather is good

The Tanaiste's ruled out bringing forward the date for reopening outdoor dining and drinking.

It follows the crowded scenes in Dublin, Cork and Galway over the weekend.

Dublin City Council will meet with stakeholders this week to see if additional measures are needed, in the wake of the unplanned public gathering in the city.

There are concerns similar scenes could occur over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Tanaiste Leo Varadkar says there won't be a change to Monday's date for opening up outdoor dining and drinking.
