The Road Safety Authority is warning drivers to slow down.

Drivers are being reminded to be extra cautious, as a low temperature warning affects road conditions.

Met Eireann is warning of icy stretches between now and midday tomorrow, with possible severe frost and hail showers.

Wintry showers are expected in the northwest and southwest, where accumulations of snow are possible.

Communications Manager with the Road Safety Authority, Brian Farrell, is appealing to all road users to be extra cautious:

Maneuver gently, steady as she goes, no harsh breaking or acceleration.

Footpaths can be slippy if untreated, just wear sensible footwear for the conditions.

The most obvious dangers are the one outside your door step, so be particularly careful getting in and out of cars.
