Study reveals which local NCT centre has highest failure rate

Potholes and poor roads are being blamed for high failure rates at some NCT centres.

A new study has revealed Castlerea NCT centre has one of the the highest failure rates in the country.

One third of centres had more vehicles fail than pass on their first attempt last years.

A total 38 per cent of vehciles passed at the co Roscommon base in 2021 while 44.28 percent got the green light at Carrick-on-Shannon NCT centre.

Out of the 19,632 vehicles tested in Athlone over 50 percent passed while 48.65 percent passed in Longford.
