Students urged to consider local University

The establishment of the Technological University of the Shannon is more than just the creation of a new name according to the outgoing president of AIT.

Professor Ciarán Ó Catháin says the new TUS encompassing the Athlone and Limerick Institutes of Technology will form a key part of rural regeneration in the midlands and the Midwest.

Campuses in Athlone, Clonmel, Thurles, Limerick and Ennis will cater for more than 15 thousand staff and students, with Athlone officially now designated a University Town.
