Student calls for more youth representation in local authorities

That is the view of 18-year-old Sam Brooks, who served as Chair of Roscommon's Youth Council for the 2023 term and as Regional Officer for Longford-Westmeath with the Irish Second-Level Students' Union.

The Taughmaconnell resident is calling for more youth representation and diversity in local authorities. Speaking on Let's Talk today, Sam Brooks called for more interaction between local councillors and young people:
