There were reports of bogus tradesmen calling door to door in parts of the region last week.

The company initially said this week that its users would have to shoulder extra costs - but has since said a review of charges won't happen until October 2026.

Sinn Féin's Martin Kenny has labelled the Government's response to the ongoing crisis as 'disastrous'.

A number of trees have been down along the track recently however most have now been cleared.

At one stage 768,000 premises were without electricity after the record-breaking winds of Storm Éowyn last month.

According to ESB Ireland, while the majority of properties will be restored by the weekend, a number of customers may have to wait until early next week. 

The ESB are estimating a restoration time of Sunday evening for some customers.

Meanwhile, The Cabinet has been discussing how to better prepare Ireland for future bad weather, following the fallout from Storm Eowyn.
