Still no psychiatry services for older people at hub in Castlerea

The hub was officially launched by the head of the HSE, Paul Reid, in June 2020.

There is still no Psychiatry of Later Life services in place at the E-Mental Hub in Castlerea.

Minister of State for Older People Mary Butler has confirmed that recruitment is still underway for five staff required for the service.

In June, the Minister granted 1.4 million euro to recruit a senior psychologist, senior occupational therapist, a consultant psychiatrist and three other roles for the day hospital, but none of the posts have been filled so far.

The CAMHS Connect mental health service for children and adolescents is running at a limited capacity with roles also to be filled.

Sinn Fein TD for Roscommon Galway Claire Kerrane who put the question to the Minister says it's very disappointing that the service which was promised two years ago now is still not in place:
