Status yellow wind warning issued for Longford and rest of Leinster on Wednesday

There are fears in Cork of flooding overnight as Met Eireann upgrades a weather warning.

A status orange wind alert will be in place across the county from 9pm with gusts of up to 110 kilometres per hour possible.

The forecaster is warning of coastal flooding tonight and tomorrow morning.

A similar status yellow alert will be in place across Leinster and the rest of Munster from 9pm until 9am tomorrow.
