Status Yellow wind warning for local counties this morning

It promises to be a wet and windy late morning and early afternoon in the Shannonside region. Met Éireann says a Status Yellow wind alert for five counties will remain in place until 1 pm at the earliest.

The warning applies to Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, and Sligo and came into effect this morning. Wave overtopping is expected in coastal areas, with strong and gusty southwesterly winds, and rain spreading from the northwest.
