Sporting windfall for Leitrim groups through dormant accounts

An investment package of more than 590-thousand euro has been announced by Sport Ireland for sporting and physical activity measures across the Shannonside Northern Sound region.

The investment from the Dormant Accounts Funding focuses on people with disabilities and those who are educationally disadvantaged or from disadvantaged communities.

In the Shannonside region, Leitrim receives the biggest local allocation with an investment of close to 210-thousand euro headed for the county. Longford will benefit from an allocation of over 130-thousand euro, and Roscommon will receive 18,000.
