Special support is being offered to the families of two men murdered in Sligo this week.

Gardaí are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the deaths of 41-year Roscommon native Aidan Moffitt and 58-year-old Michael Snee in the last 72 hours.

The body of Michael Snee was removed from his home this afternoon for a post-mortem to take place at Sligo University Hospital.

Gardai are investigating his murder at his home on Connaughton Road, a day after the remains of 42-year-old Aidan Moffitt were found at Cartron Heights.

Gardai are investigating if two men found dead in separate murders in Sligo met their attacker online.

Chief Superintendent Aidan Glackin from Sligo Garda Station says officers are also analyzing another incident in the Sligo area recently.

Gardai say they are investigating if there was a hate-related motive to these murders and whether the victims met their attacker online.

Locals in Sligo town say they're 'shocked' and 'appalled' after the discovery of the bodies of two men in recent days.
