South Leitrim and north Longford maintaining high Covid incidence rates

Ballyjamesduff in Cavan remains the local electoral area with the highest incidence rate of Covid-19.

Two areas in the country now have a rate of more than 1,000.

The national rate is 279.3.

North Longford and the Granard LEA recorded 45 cases in the last two weeks - with its LE rate at 421.6

The Longford town LEA and the Ballymahon LEA have both recorded thirty new cases each in the last fortnight.

North Roscommon remains the area with the highest Covid rate in the last 14 days in Roscommon itself.

63 cases have been confirmed in the Boyle Local Electoral Area between the 6th and 19th of October - with a rate per 100,000 of 288.

The Roscommon LEA has recorded 44 cases in the last fortnight and 46 cases in the Athlone LEA.

The Westmeath Athlone LEA has had 80 cases in the last 14 day period - with a rate of 352.5 per 100,000.

In Leitrim, 45 cases have been recorded in Carrick-on-Shannon's LEA- which results in an incidence rate of 396.1

Thirty new cases were also recorded in the Manorhamilton LEA - with 14 in the Ballinamore area.
