A Longford journalist who conducted the first broadcast interview with Ian Bailey after he was questioned in relation to the death of Sophie Toscan Du Plantier says he thinks the mystery is likely to remain unsolved.
Tom McGuire who's a native of Killoe was working with RTE in Cork when the murder took place in December of 1996 and was sent to interview Ian Bailey a few weeks later.
Some of the interviews featured on RTE television news at the time and it has also been shown in the two recent documentaries on Netflix and Sky about the murder.

The Longford man says he's been asked by a lot of people recently what he thinks about the case, but he has no more answers than anyone else:
