A Roscommon based solicitor says there's an attempt to impose changes to the criminal legal aid payment system. Solicitors have completely withdrawn their services again today over changes to the legal-aid model.
The row centres on a new payment model introduced on July 1st, which replaced payments for each court appearance with a flat fee of 520 euro per client. Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show, Roscommon solicitor Con Harlow says they've had no choice but to take action:
