Sinn Fein TD says ransom money would be better invested in secure IT systems

Deputy Kenny maintains that even if the government pay the money, there is no guarantee the information won't be passed on

Sinn Fein TD for Sligo Leitrim and North Roscommon Martin Kenny agrees that the government should not pay the reported 20 million euro ransom for the cyber attack on the HSE's systems.

He told today's Let's Talk that the HSE needs to prioritise on getting as systems back in place as soon as possible especially for those with critical diagnostic appointments.

However, he maintains that even if the government pay the money, there is no guarantee the information won't be passed on.
