The Bishop of Elphin has expressed his shock at the sudden death of Father Martin Mulvaney the parish priest of Rooskey.

Father Mulvaney was a native of county Sligo and had served in a number of parishes including Kilmurray, Roscommon, Croghan and Athlone.

He was appointed to Kilglass Rooskey in August 2018.

Bishop Kevin Doran has said that the diocese is in shock at the sudden death of Father Mulvaney over the weekend.

He has expressed his sympathies to Father Mulvaney’s sisters and brothers, to his parishioners in Rooskey and Kilglass and, to all his colleagues and friends among the priests and deacons of the diocese.
