Schools in the Shannonside region are set to benefit from technology grants of more than 1.6 million euro.
The funding will be used to support the development of digital technologies in schools.
It’s part of a 50 million euro nationwide fund which has been signed off on by the Education Minister Normal Foley to help young people improve their digital learning.

Leitrim schools will benefit from a 397,000 euro grant, Longford schools will receive 556,000 euro, and Roscommon schools will receive grants worth 720,000 euro.
These grants will issue automatically to all schools during the first week in December.
