Shannonside GP says he'd be surprised if government doesn't approve AstraZeneca vaccine for older people

A Shannonside GP says he would be surprised if the government doesn't re-think its stance on the provision for AstraZeneca vaccine for the over 65s.

Yesterday, the WHO announced that it was approving the vaccine for use for the general public.

However the government here has stated that it will not be used for the older groups category.

Castlerea GP Greg Kelly says he having the option of AstraZeneca would make the rollout of the programme much simpler.
