Senior HSE medic urges public to think before meet ups this Easter weekend

There is growing concern that good weather this weekend will drive hundreds more Covid cases in communites trying to enjoy the long Easter holiday

The Director of Public Health for Leitrim, Sligo and Donegal is asking people to stop and think about meeting others during the Easter break.

Dr Anthony Breslin says that as cases of Covid decrease it's more important than ever that everyone limits the number of contacts we have with others. He says there's no room for complacency even in counties like Leitrim which has had low numbers of cases for the past several weeks.

Dr Breslin says while the vaccine will protect more and more people in the coming months, it's still hugely important that we continue to keep up our guard, especially over holiday periods like the coming weekend …
