A Roscommon student is calling on the Minister for Education to remove school profiling from the awarding of calculated grades next month.

The Department of Education has come under increasing pressure to amend the calculated grades system, after a u-turn by the UK government which had tried to implement a similar system.

Instead the grades allocated by teachers is what students studying for A-levels in the UK will now receive.

Leaving Cert students are due to receive their results on September, 7th - but a number of incoming, and outgoing sixth-year students are calling on Norma Foley to "'Scrap School Profiling" in a petition that has so far gathered over 2,000 signatures. .

Isabelle Flanagan is starting sixth year in Castlerea Community School later this month and she feels the current system is totally unfair
