The extra funding will be used for local improvements across the country.

Over €2.3 million in extra funding has been announced for local laneways.

The funding from the Department of Rural and Community Development was announced this morning and will go towards non-public roads leading to farmland or public amenities.

Over €1.4 million was announced by Minister Heather Humphreys for the local counties earlier this year.
