Roscommon Rapid Response is one of 13 projects across the country shortlisted for this years .IE Digital Town Awards.
The awards recognise the use of digital technologies and innovation to transform or enhance towns and communities for the betterment of local people and society.
The Roscommon organisation has been shortlisted for two national wards in the Community Digital and Digital Changemaker categories.

Its entry focuses on the EmCall app , which provides the community with a digital emergency response system.
John Mc Dermot from the group says while over 1,000 people have downloaded the app so far they have a much bigger target in mind and hope to achieve it by raising awareness of the project again this year….
