Roscommon network president calls for support to close gender pay gaps

Recent figures from the CSO show that the average weekly wage for employees across the Shannonside region is €735.

Most domestic responsibilities still remain with women in many families across the region. That is the view of the President of the Roscommon Network, Rachel Connolly. Speaking on Let's Talk today, the entrepreneur explained that women's role as the carer of the family leads to many employers assigning certain jobs to men over women.

Recent figures from the CSO show that the average weekly wage for employees across the Shannonside region is €735. However, contained in the data is the gender pay gap which to this day puts women at a disadvantage when making their way up the career ladder. Speaking on Let's Talk today, Rachel Connolly said more supports need to be established in rural areas to facilitate young businesswomen:
