A Roscommon historical house and estate has been awarded a prestigious heritage accolade at this year's Historic Houses of Ireland Awards.
Clonalis House in Castlerea dates back to the High Kings of Ireland and is now occupied by Richard and Carol-Anne O'Connor Nash.
The couple received the HHI O'Flynn Group Heritage prize which recognises their commitment in preserving the Victorian home and its architecture.
The 45 bedroom guest house was previously restored by Richard's parents Pyers and Marguerite O'Connor and is home to a library of over 7,000 books.
Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound Carol-Anne says they are proud to be custodians of this special country house.
