Local rural independent TD Michael Fitzmaurice is keeping his options open over what constituency to contest the next election in.
The Roscommon Galway TD, who is the driving force behind the potential set up of a new rural politically party, has stated he is open to running in the new four seater Galway East Constituency.
Speaking to the Joe Finnegan Show this morning, Deputy Fitzmaurice says that, should the new rural party come together before the next general election, he would consider running a candidate in Roscommon Galway while he moves east.
The rural independent stated he will move away from his current consistency should a more suitable candidate join his proposed new political party.
