A Roscommon Councillor is warning people of an e-mail scam which she has been targeted with in recent days and claims to come from An Post.

The e-mail claims that it is being sent from An Post concerning a household's TV licence which they explain is due to expire in 6 days and asking people to click on a link to renew their subscription.

Councillor Kathleen Shanagher says she's been in touch with An Post who confirm while they do send out reminder e-mails about renewing licences, they would always have the customers address within the body of the e-mail.
