A local councillor says the Government has failed County Roscommon when it comes to housing.
Cllr Anthony Waldron said the current housing crisis in the county can be alleviated with changes to planning regulations. He was speaking ahead of the Housing Minister's visit to County Roscommon next week. Minister Darragh O'Brien will officially open the new Esker Lawns housing development in Monksland on Monday. He will also visit Roscommon town and Elphin where he will unveil further housing projects.
Speaking to Shannonside News, Cllr Waldron questioned whether the Government knew what was required in rural areas:
