The N4 west of Mullingar is closed following a serious crash near The Covert junction.
Westbound traffic is being diverted off the N4 at junction 17 via R394 to Castlepollard and via the R395 to Edgeworthstown and onwards on the N4.
Eastbound traffic is being divertedo off the N4 at The Covert junction via L1819 to Multyfarnham, via L1618 to Crookedwood, via R394 to junction 17 and onwards on the N4.

The road will remain closed until Gardai finish their investigation.
