Revenue make large cannabis seizure in Athlone

Revenue have seized close to €150,000 worth of herbal cannabis in Athlone.

Officers conducting routine parcel examinations at the mail centre in Athlone discovered the drugs yesterday.The cannabis is worth an estimated €147,200 and was discovered in a parcel originating in Spain, with a delivery address in Dublin.

Investigations are ongoing and Revenue are urging anyone with any information regarding drug smuggling to contact them in full confidence.
