The Society of Chartered Surveyors says rebuild costs the north-west are coming from a low base and that accounts for some of the increase

The cost of rebuilding a house in the north-west has gone up by 26 per cent in the past year.

Although Dublin recorded the lowest increase, at 14 per cent, the capital has the highest rebuild costs.
