Longford County Council is to progress with a new surface on the R392 from Forgeny Church to the junction with the R391 to Abbeyshrule.
A study had been carried on a possible realignment of the R392 from Forgney to Center Parcs, with four route options forming part of a public consultation.
However, officials have decided not to proceed with this proposal.

There will now be localised realignment at the Abbeyshrule junction onto the R391 as well as an upgrade to the surface of the R392.
