The National Parks and Wildlife Service is awaiting forensic tests, but believes the bird was shot.

A rare white-tailed eagle was found dead in County Roscommon.
The National Parks and Wildlife Service is awaiting forensic tests, but believes the bird was shot.
The two-year old female was released in the Lough Derg wildlife two years ago as part of a reintroduction programme.

It's believed that the eagle died on Monday evening or Tuesday morning.
