The R357 between Ballinasloe and Shannonbridge won't be re-opened until after three o' clock this afternoon.
It's been closed since a fatal road traffic collision at Cloneash about one and a half kilometres from Shannonbridge village just before 7 o' clock last night.
A forensic examination of the scene is being carried out today and diversions remain in place in the meantime.

The man who was killed in the accident was in his 30's. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and also to any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) from along the route at around the time of the collision to come forward.
