Public asked to contact gardai in relation to fatal collision in Westmeath

Gardaí in Westmeath are asking for the public's help in their investigation into a fatal road traffic collision near Ballinagore last night.

The driver and sole occupant of the car, a woman in her 20s, died during the collision that happened on the L1122 , shortly after 8 o' clock last night.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her body was taken to Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar, where a post-mortem will take place.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators have been conducting an examination of the scene, and Sgt Andrew Haran says they'd like to hear from anyone who was in the area around 8' o clock yesterday evening.
